Absolutely! All of our wedding suites are ready to order today.
Great question! You will still need a reply card with the website information, you just won’t need an envelope. Just place your order, and we will refund you for the envelope .50 per suite before shipping. Let us know in the special instructions box on this page so El prepares your proofs correctly.
We do! This is a popular option. If selecting this service, you will also need to select either digital or hand calligraphy. You will be charged separately for your stamps closer to the mailing date.
Unfortunately, we do not offer samples of our work. But you can email ellen@elscards.com and we are happy to send you a paper sample, so you can hold our high quality cardstock before you order.
Of course! We will not print anything until it is 100% approved by you-and you LOVE your wedding stationery!
After you place your order, and we have your selected wording, you can expect to receive a customized proof in 3-5 business days. After your final proof is approved, you can expect 7-10 business days for Bob to print your wedding stationery. Keep in mind that different times of the year are busier than others. And if you are having us assemble and mail, the timeline will be different than if you plan to assemble and mail them out yourself. But don’t worry! I’ll be with you every step of the way.
If we have not started printing yet, we certainly will correct the error for you. But once you give us your final approval, we are not responsible for any typos on your stationery. We suggest that you have several pairs of eyes look at all of the pieces of your suite-checking spelling and addresses especially. DO NOT EVER proof your wedding items on your phone. It’s way too small. Always do your proofing on a desktop or tablet (preferably on a desktop). If we need to reprint, you will be charged for any pieces that are redone.
All of our invitation suites are created with what I select as the best font choice with the watercolor design. But you can definitely select one of our other fonts and font color can also be changed if you prefer it to be more harmonious with your wedding colors. Please let me know before I create your proof to avoid an additional design charge.
They are! Right at El’s painting table in her studio, using brushes and a beautiful heavy watercolor paper. She even mixes most of her own colors! No digital painting here at El’s Cards!
All our wedding paper goods are printed with archival inks in Greenland, New Hampshire. Most are printed on our “Big Boy”, a huge printer that allows Bob to print on large sheets of cardstock to be cut individually. Bob’s attention to detail in the production process is unparalleled.
So many choices! Here are some guidelines of what will fit on each of these cards-and what El recommends.
Details cards are 3.5” x 2” in size and contain your web address and very little wording.-Select this card if you have 3 lines or so to include about your website. You can see an example in the suite photos.
Enclosure cards are 3.5” x 5” in size, and are for other events (think welcome party, rehearsal dinner,or Sunday brunch) or additional important information (like hotel or transportation info) . Sometimes our clients like to use the enclosure card as a separate Reception card if there is a lot of information about this event (this is the more traditional approach to the invitation). Select this item if you have one other event you need to share with your guests. Please note: Sometimes a website address will also fit on this card, eliminating the need for both cards.
Schedules of Events are approximately 5” x 6.25” in size. This is a custom item and you may incur a design fee depending upon how many you need (minimum is 75), or if you need special illustrations painted. You can see some examples here. (little question mark thing? Or send them to the Schedule of Events page? I think we want to keep them on the product page though-right?) Schedules of Events are a great choice if you have several events and want to keep everything on one card. They also have fun illustrations in the El’s Cards signature style! Your website will go at the bottom so no need to order a separate details card if ordering the Illustrated Schedule of Events.
–No additional cost customization can be as simple as switching an envelope liner design from another existing suite, or using a reply card design from another existing suite.
–For an additional cost, you may want to add a heavy cardstock backing if one is not included in your suite. Similarly, we can add ribbon, belly bands, wax seals, prints of existing map designs to be inserted in the invitations, and double envelopes if desired. These additions will occur after you have selected and purchased your invitation suite. Don’t forget…We're with you every step of the way to make your invitation special and memorable. Every time you email, you will be talking with Ellen directly.
Currently, we do have a couple of different ways to add some pieces that are painted especially for your wedding!
–Custom Watercolor Maps as part of your invitation suite is a great way to make your invitation custom. We will create a contract with timelines for this process, so do not place an order for invitations on our website. We do have minimum requirements for a custom map purchase, so please see our custom maps page to learn what those are prior to inquiring. This is a great addition to your suite and I love to use the paintings from your map to personalize signage and other pieces for your wedding day. So many fun ways to use your custom map!
-Custom Watercolor Crests are another great option to make your wedding stationery custom. These beauties are hand painted for you especially and can be used on everything from the invitation through the thank you note. When designing the invitation and wedding day stationery, I use the elements from your crest to design all your other pieces and keep everything looking super unique. This is also a contracted item that involves timing and minimums.
-Hand Painted Seating Charts-100% El’s favorite! These are truly one of a kind and the most impressive item (in my opinion) that I paint! Every seating chart is totally unique and has so many special little details that are personal to you as a couple. It’s a work of art that you will treasure forever in your home. Timing is critical for these, so please reach out as soon as you know if you would like this unique item as part of your wedding day decor.
