Custom Peaks Island, Maine Hydrangea Beauty
This wedding on Peaks Island, off the coast of Portland, Maine was a beauty! I met Martha, the mother of the bride many years ago at a small craft show in Falmouth, Maine. It was a delight to meet Caitlin with her mom at our home studio in the spring before the big day. It was cold and wintery, so a conversation about this coastal summer day was very welcome. And they brought me the best surprise...Valentine candy from Chatham Candy Manor!

I love it when our wedding couples can tie a special artistic detail into many wedding elements! It was my pleasure to work with Caitlin and her mom, Martha, on all the special wedding details! We started with a calendar save the date featuring a map of Casco Bay, Maine with the ferry heading to Peaks Island. The ferry design was also on the envelope (Signature service-we always put artwork on our save the date envelopes when we do the guest addressing)!
Fast forward to the wedding ceremony and a two sided “ferry ticket/schedule of events” that was included with the programs.
Two more fun details using my ferry painting…beautiful and delicious cookies for favors using the same ferry design by Simply Homemade by Karen. I heard these were as delicious as they were beautifully done. And of course cocktail napkins for the reception. If something can’t be created by us on paper, we love working with outside vendors to put my watercolor designs on other items! All of our designs are copyrighted so thanks for respecting that and approaching us directly for help.
The Hydrangea & Blueberries wedding invitation design is a New England favorite-and we had this design featured on many wedding day items including ceremony programs, menus, stickers, table numbers, and place cards.
My other favorite detail of this unique wedding was the watercolor painting I did of the Peaks Island ferry landing and the TEIA where the wedding reception took place. We had a large sandwich board sign printed using the image to direct the guests on the island. We also printed it on a large welcome sign at the entrance to the reception venue.
Working with this family was a real treat! Such kind and thoughtful people. We did a show in Chatham, MA about a month before the wedding day and Martha stopped by to say "hi" and even spoiled Bob and I with more treats from Chatham Candy Manor. Caitlin had me create a special gift for her mom after the wedding too. Working with the Crawford family was a true highlight of 2023.
Wishing you both the very best, Caitlin & Sean! Your smiles on the wedding day say it all. I'm looking forward to crossing paths again in the future. xoxo
