Special Details for a warm October Day

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to work with Lisa and Mike to create their custom wedding invitation suite.  Lisa and I had worked together at JetBlue (that job is a story for another day!), and when we met, she was so excited about El's Cards and everything that we offered.  We have become friends, and Lisa is one of the most thoughtful people I know!  When she and Mike got engaged, I felt so lucky that they thought of my work...and there the fun began!

Mike had an idea of using a sunset photo that he had taken as the basis of the Save the Date card.  I took his photo and turned it into a watercolor-esque Save the Date.

All of the other pieces were created from scratch especially for them.  Lisa had so many great ideas!  We stayed within the gold and navy color scheme and all the pieces were created from there. The hand painted autumn trees that were created for the couple has been the basis of many versions of the autumn tree invitation suite since then!

Lisa and Mike had a custom map, which was printed on rice paper and hand cut to look like it was torn to a deckled edge.  Their venue was printed on the outer envelope.  We even had a tropical style rsvp card and then later, tropical thank you notes especially made for the couple.

My favorite part of the entire process, was to create their hand painted seating chart for the reception!  There were over 250 guests...but we did it!  The main artwork featured was the autumn tree in the center, but the chart featured a painting of their dog and other things that were special to Mike and Lisa.

We did a program with a painting of their church on the front, table signs, personalized luggage tags for the bridesmaids, place cards for each guest,  and thank you notes for the shower. It was a pleasure from start to finish!

Lisa and Mike just had their second baby!  A great milestone in the lives of two special people, who are a wonderful couple!
